NOSEDIVE REVIEW

Black mirror is a science fiction series directed by Charlie Brooker. It mainly focuses on humanity's relationship to technology and its consequences. The series has five seasons, and each episode has a different story. The episode I will focus on is Nosedive, starring Bryce Dallas Howard.

The episode takes place in a world where people can rate each other for every interaction they have. The rating is important to be respected by others, so people with higher ratings are the most popular and respected ones. Laice is obsessed with her rating. She wants to move to a more luxurious house, but she needs a higher rating. When her popular childhood friend chooses her to be the maid of honour for her wedding, she sees it as an opportunity to raise her rating, but if she wasn't obsessed with her rating, she wouldn't have so much trouble getting to the wedding on time.

The most admirable thing for me in this episode is the special effects and the aesthetic. The range of colors used in the episode is limited only to pastel colors, what makes every scene look beautiful. The development of the storyline is great. The more you see, the more you get hooked.

I recommend not only this episode, but Black Mirror in general. If you are curious about technological development and its consequences nowadays, this series is for you.

Film Review - Mireia Tarragó

Black Mirror is a British television series of drama created by the director Charlie Brooker. this
series consists of five seasons and twenty-two chapters for each. “Nosedive” is the first
episode of the third season of Black Mirror series, and was performed for the first time on
October 21 of 2016.

The episode takes place in a world that people can rate each other by scores of one to five stars in each social interaction they make. Lacie, a young woman obsessed with her qualifications, is chosen by a popular childhood friend as the bridesmaid of her wedding. During the trip, Lacie meets one of the workers in charge of customer service. After a long discussion her personal qualification
begins to reduce.

Nowadays, the topic he is dealing with isn’t still happening, but in a few years all this could be real, and personally it will be very bad. What i like best is that it makes you see that this shouldn’t happen, that your quality of life shouldn’t be defined by the qualifications of others about you.

The episode could be a little shorter, but otherwise it is a very well thought out and elaborate
episode, which makes us see one of the problems of the society.

If someone has the opportunity to watch this episode, I recommend it, because this episode
holds the spectator’s attention until the end.

Film Review - Victor Farrés

The chapter plot starts introducing our protagonist Lacie and a society that
measures itself via a point mechanic that if you have more overall rating, you
will obtain life and social privileges, like better Jobs, quicker and better flights,
deluxe service with zero arguments in some establishments etc, but in
counterpart, if you have a low score in your rating, you will be seen as a society
scum and lose all the privileges and make important things very hard to obtain.

Lacie lives in a suburban apartment with her brother. Lacie wants a deluxe
apartment in a rich neightbourhood but if her score in that moment was 4.5 or
more, she would have obtained the discount, but she was a 4.2 so she needed
a way to get her score up. So, one day in her job she saw a plushie that her and
her childhood best friend made together long time ago, so she uploaded a
photo of the plushie to get her friend attention (her friend was 4.7 so tried to
befriend her again so she could get more scores entering again in NaeNae
close friend circle). Her plan initialy worked but If she thought more about her
actions, she wouldnt have ended ruined in her score.

She started to have a downfall in her score at the momento NaeNae invited
Lacie to her wedding very far from Lacie´s town, so Lacie very stressed and
almost losing her sanity went to the airport but the flight was overbooked and
she needed a higher score to get on the plane, so she losed her marbles and
insulted her, making her lose a whole point, then she went into a tragic
downfall of her rating from 4.2 to 1.1. So if she had taked the situation more
normally, she wouldnt have lost all her score, do a talk interrupting NaeNae
wedding and knowing why this society stinks and why no one apreciates
people now for their friendship, just for their score

Black Mirror

In this chapter we can see how the main protagonist goes through different stages.
From being an educated person and never lacking respect to be a person who
enjoys insulting. We can see that the plot of this chapter is based mainly on liking as
many people as possible and that they give you their approval since the more
reputable you have the more facilities you have in various fields and vice versa. One
of the things that I have to recognize the most is the main actress since it represents
very well what happens to the character and makes you interconnect a lot in the
main plot. But what you have to admire the most is the final scene since it is where
the climax of the chapter arises because it is where the protagonist 'explodes'; and
begins to change and become more aggressive. For me the true star has been the
protagonist.

“Nosedive” is the first episode in the third season of the British science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. Directed by Joe Wright, this episode was given a much larger budget than the previous episodes of the programme.

The story is set in a world in which everyone is constantly rating each other out of five.
The society is actually based on that. The higher your rating, the better the quality of life you have, and the more privileged you are, and so everyone is sickeningly nice to each other all the time.

I really love the use of pastel colours to amplify the idea of perfection that everyone has to show in order to preserve their rating.

The actors carry the piece brilliantly. Bryce Dallas Howard is fantastic in the lead role, making her character human enough to keep us by her side.

I believe it's a perfect reminder of where social media can lead us if we keep trying to gain everyone's acceptance. I think this chapter is a must for everyone no matter the age.

FILM REVIEW – NOSEDIVE

Nosedive is the first episode of the third season of the British series Black Mirror. As
well as all the other episodes from Black Mirror, Nosedive criticizes our society and the
consequences of our actions. This episode, directed by Joe Wright, starts the American
actress Bryce Dallas Howard in the role of Lacie Pound.

The plot follows the life of the main character Lacie Pound who lives in a society where
people can rate each other from one to five stars for every interaction they have.
These ratings are important to most of the people because they have a socioeconomic
impact. Lacie found a way to increase her status by attending her fancy old friend’s
wedding as a bridesmaid. However, she became obsessed with the rankings and this
leaded to several mishaps on her way to the event.

What caught my attention was the outstanding performance that the protagonist,
Bryce Howard, made. The clothes worn in this episode are all pastel, which gives the
viewer a better understanding of the world Nosedive is set in. It is also very realistic,
because who wouldn’t worry about his score, if we lived in a society where your status
determines everything?

Nevertheless, it has a predictable plot. It is easy to see that if you become obsessed
with something, it will, most likely, have negative consequences in your life. In this
case, it was obvious that if Lacie hadn’t been so worried about her ratings, she
wouldn’t have turned crazy about it.

I would one hundred percent recommend it because it can help people see the
negative effects of social media and that not everybody’s life is how they make it look
like.

NOSEDIVE

Nosedive is an episode from the series “Black Mirror”. Black Mirror is a british science fiction series directed by Charlie Brooker. This series is focused on how technology will affect us.

In this episode people are rated on a five-star scale, there’s a girl, Lacie, she is 4.2 rating but she wants to be 4.5 rating to buy a new apartment. She starts to be kind with people to achieve her goal. One day Naomi, an old friend of her, asks Lacie if she wants to be her bridesmaid. Lacie realize that it was a perfect chance to get the five stars.

I don’t really like this episode because I don’t believe that in the future we will be rated by five-star scale.

I recommend it to people who like futuristic series.

Film Review - Maria Alba

Nosedive is the first episode of the third season of a British series of science fiction called Black
Mirror. This episode is set in Knysna, South Africa and is directed by Joe Wright. The leading
actress is Bryce Dallas Howard because stars the role of Lacie Pound, the protagonist. Also, are
Alice Eve as Naomi Blestow, James Norton as Ryan Pound, Cherry Jones as Susan and Alan
Ritchson as Paul.

Lacie Pound lives in a world where anyone can rate your personality out of five stars, from
your friends to strangers you meet on the street. She lives with her brother Ryan, but she
wants to move out. Lacie finds her dream’s house, but she needs to have a rating of 4.5 or
above instead of 4.2. Luckily, her old friend Naomi contacts her and asks her to be her maid of
honor, which Lacie immediately accepts. Around that, she makes a plan to raise her mark and
manage the house, but her trip does not go as she planned.

The good points are that it is focuses on social media and shows the reality behind the likes, all
the stressful and unreal life that you have when you are looking for more likes. In addition, it
has an awesome plot and splendid special effects.

The bad points are that the beginning can be boring for some people because it is slow
because they have to explain the story and for some people that is tedious. And also, the final
scene because it is a bit bizarre. Maybe, if they had had a different end, they would have
caught more audience and fewer complaints.

It is an intriguing episode and I highly recommend it if you like this kind of episodes. If you see
nosedive, you will not regret it.

FILM REVIEW

Nosedive is the third episode of the serie Black Mirror. This serie talks about a alternative reality that might represent a not-too-distant future, where technology has exceeded a limit on society. Each episode shows how our society would evolve if technology exceeded a limit.

This episode is about what would happen if social networks started to become our main motivation.
The main character is a girl, named Lacie. She lives in a society where people can be qualified in each social action they take. At the beginning everything seems to be going well and she seems to have a quiet and happy life, but as the episode progresses we realize the disadvantages of live with the constant commitment to not have a bad qualification, and how that creates a false society, where high qualification and likes are more importance than people.

I think that Black mirror is a good serie and it teach you a lot. I really enjoyed the episode although I had watched it already. I think that it has a good interpretation and convey interesting ideas and reflections.

If you hadn’t watched it yet, watch it now!

Film Review - Lucas Lario

NOSEDIVE (BLACK MIRROR)
Black Mirror is a series directed by Charlie Brooker and filmed in UK, it’s a drama and science fiction series, which is based on a society who have evolved a lot in technology field. Each episode of this series is completely different, is not about a story if it was a story, it wouldn’t have sense, so
every episode is about a different story.

Nosedive’s an episode of Black mirror, and it’s about a woman called Lacie Pound who has problems in her society because people are valuated with a number which classify them in different social classes.

I really like the end and the moral of the story, as if you watch it attentively, it will make you reflect. The episode's message is people sometimes just watching someone’s profile in social networks, they judge them. And if this situation goes on happening until arrive to episode’s level, people will have big problem for social interaction.

The only thing I didn’t liked so much of this episode, it's the fact that the episode has moments in which it becomes tiring, because it consists of the same subject and becomes repetitive.

In conclusion, I recommend Black Mirror to everybody, especially to people who are really addicted to their smartphones, basically to reflect and aware of life is not into screen, but in daily routine.

Film Review - Marina Mendiola

BLACKMIRROR- NOSEDIVE

Nosedive is one of the chapters of the Blackmirror series, a dystopic science fiction series created by Charlie Brooker.

Blackmirror is a series that deals with the technology and dehumanication of the future, in this episode the plot is based on the need that people have to be accepted. Specifically about the great power that social networks have over us and our minds and how would they have more if we didn't change.
In the chapter there’s an app in which people value them from 0 to 5. If you have good assessments you will obtain a better standard of living. It tells the story of Lacie, a woman who is hooked on this app, and tries to get a good score, and although her brother disagrees with her and tries to raise her awareness, she still wants to be "popular” on the app. But in the end things don't go as she wanted.

What I like the best is how they use pastel colors throughout the chapter, to simulate a perfect and beautiful environment, as we want to see on social networks.
On the other hand, I think it would be better if they had made a less dramatic end. In my opinion it was not necessary for the protagonist to be taken to prison.

Ending, I find the chapter very good as it tries to raise awareness in society about the damage that social networks can cause in our lives. I recommend it!

Film Review - Pau Salvador

BLACK MIRROR EPISODE

The plot of this episode of Black Mirror was a about a girl who lives maybe in a different civilization tan us or maybe on the future, all what they do was to like the others because it’s very important that they marks you with a high not. If you have a high global mark you will have more possibilities to have a work or to buy a house. The girl want to buy a new house but she needs to has a 4.5 of the global mark, which it’s very high if we keep in mind that the higher mark that someone could give you is a 5.
She is going to try to like everybody unless sometimes is going to be difficult for her but she has a good opportunity to raise a lot of marks but maybe not all the thing are going to be as good as she think.
The most enjoyable thing of the episode is how it makes you think about what the people is able to do, to be another one in the society and how can the difficulties of some people can make them to be alone and marginalized.
The only fault I can find is that if this society finally arrives, I would kill me unless I think it won’t ever exist and maybe also some other people think like me and they try to do it before it arrives.
It’s an intelligent way of mace us think about how we behave and how we don’t want to be in the future.

Film Review - Maria Toro

Review of Black Mirror: Nosedive
Black Mirror is a Britain series created by Charlie Brooker. In the sequences there isn’t a storyline between the chapters, each episode is an own history, so the actors are neither the same ones. The genres of the series are science fiction, satire, psychological thriller and dystopia.
Nosedive, of the season 3, is about a girl, the main character, called Lacie Pound, starred by Bryce Dallas Howard. Her life depends of the social media, of what are other people going to think of her. She has a wedding of an old friend, and that’s the way of improving her social status, but first she has to arrive to the ceremony. A trailer is available in Netflix.
One of the most enjoyable things about the series is that it deals with the technology, the way we use it and how we depend on it. The series focuses on the situation of how society can be if digital evolution becomes extreme. In this way, Black Mirror make spectators think about it. Specifically in this chapter, the most interesting thing is the deep reflection of what are others going to think about us, and what are we capable of doing to give only impressions. Another thing I found awesome is the set design. It produces pleasure because of its colours and shapes.
The only fault I found is that the film doesn’t really hold the spectator’s attention during all the chapter because from my point of view, it’s too long and a bit repetitive. I would also have liked more dialogue because there are many scenes without talk and that makes people get bored. If I had been the star, I would have asked to rewrite the script.
It’s one of the best chapters of the complete series. I seriously recommend Nosedive and the whole thoughts that it’s naturally going to produce. See it with total tranquillity if you can, to interiorize more!

Review Nosedive-Daniel Esteban

Nosedive is the first chapter of the third season of the British series of science fiction  "Black Mirror", directed by Joe Wright and released the 21 October of 2016 in the platform Netflix with a duration of 63 minutes. In this chapter we can see two relevant actors, Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve.

The storyline of this episode consists in a world where the people can qualify for themselves with a mark between one and five stars according to their social interaction. Lacie is a young girl obsessed with this mark, and she was selected to be the bridesmaid of her childhood friend's (Alice) wedding, along the way she suffered altercations with various people causing the reduction of their mark.

I think that the best of the chapter is the plot, looking the changes of personality of the actress, achieving the objective of this series, give us a critical look of the society, specifically the social media like Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Without forgetting the nice interpretation of the actors, that have followed perfectly the script. If you love a good plot, this is an option.

However, If they had done a better soundtrack, it could be a better chapter, and the same with the special effects, with the technology of nowadays it could be much better.

In conclusion, I think that this chapter of Black Mirror is spectacular, I as a spectator I have no words. If you are looking for a good series of science fiction, you should see Black Mirror.

Review: Nosedive - Emma García

Nosedive is an episode of the science fiction series Black Mirror. It is based on a story by the scriptwriter Charlie Brooker and its director is Joe Wright. The episode, premiered on Netflix in 2016, is starring by American prestigious actors like Bryce Dallas Howard or Alice Eve and has received very good reviews from film critics.
In the episode, Lacie is a woman very worried about feigning and augmenting her social status, in a society where every interaction with people is rated. If she had a bad score, she would be excluded from society and many things would be forbidden for her. Lacie pretends a good relationship with everyone to augment her punctuation and access to a new house. For this reason, she attends the wedding of a childhood friend. On the way to the wedding, she will end up losing all her score, realizing that she was not free and that she was very unhappy.
What I like most about the episode is the final part where the protagonist rebels against society and begins to be herself. As a bad point, I would have enjoyed more the episode if co-stars as Lacie’s brother would have been more important during the episode.
I really recommend it because is an impressive episode. If you watch it, I’m sure that Nosedive will make you reflect!

Review: Nosedive- Natàlia Seràrols

“Nosedive” is an episode of the British science fiction series Black Mirror. This episode takes place in an alternate world. Some stars in it are kinda known, but the most famous star in it is Bryce Dallas Howard, the actress that plays the main character. The plot is based on a world where people can rate each other, which can impact their socioeconomic status. The story revolves around Lacie, a young woman obsessed with her ratings, that finds out a way to elevate them and move into her dream house, after being chosen by her childhood friend as the maid of honor for her wedding. Her obsession leads to several obstacles on her journey to the wedding that ends with a drastic reduction in her ratings. The things that I find are the most enjoyable about this episode are the writing of the script and the performance of the actors. Also, I really like the meaning of the episode and the relation with the title. And I like how this episode shows you that If we weren’t so obsessed with how people see us on social media, we would enjoy life more. The only fault that I can find is that the episode started really slow for me. Also, If the director had developed more into different stories within that alternate world, I would have enjoyed the episode more. In conclusion, I really enjoyed this episode, and it’s storyline and even though I said that it may seemed kinda slow, the episode holds the spectator’s attention until the end. So If you like this kind of TV shows, you should watch this episode.

“Nosedive” is a large-budget episode of the british anthology science fiction series “Black Mirror” directed by Joe Wright and Charlie Brooker. The whole series highlights topics related to society relationship with technology and this chapter is a criticism about social media, and the excessive importance of status. The cast is various, starring actors and actresses like Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve and James Norton. The aesthetic, the bonding of the plot with the modern world and the soundtrack, composed by Max Richter, have received positive ratings and the episode has frequently been classified in the upper area of the lists.

The story is set in a world in which people can qualify and be rated by scores in social interactions and this rating structures all the society. Bryce Dallas Howard stars Lacie, a young woman obsessed with her grades. During her trip to attend a popular childhood friend’s wedding Lacie faces a series of unfortunate events and her personal qualification starts dropping. The story is based on how she faces what she thinks is her worst adversity and how she tries to climb up again in an unfair and unbalanced society.

The most enjoyable thing is the adaptation of the script to the television because the soundtrack is brilliant and the protagonist makes an outstanding performance. Also the director’s expression of the society slight details is laboured and improves the public’s atmosphere perception.

The only fault I can find is that sometimes the plot is predictable. It would be better if there were more surprises and also if more non-stereotype characters appeared.

It’s a remarkable episode with a sharp criticism to society, complemented by a witty science fiction style. It’s ideal to watch it over and over again, and find different connotations every time. Really enjoyable for it’s scatching flow.

The chapter have an incredible soundtrack composed by Max Richter that makes every moment unique. The only complain I find is that It could be easier to understand if it is more connected between scenes.
In conclusion, I will recommend this chapter because give an realist idea from a future not so far away, If I live in that future, I won’t be agree with the stereotypes of that future.

The plot of this episode is about a society where people can rate everyone they meet up to five stars.
Lacie Pound (the main character of this episode who is played by the actress Bryce Dallas Howard) is a woman that is rated 4.2 stars. One day, her childhood friend, Naomi Blestow (Alice Eve) invites her to her wedding. When Lacie arrives to the airport, she finds out that her flight was cancelled and tries to get another flight, but by the way to the airport her rate dropped a bit to 4.1, and the other flight was for people above 4.2. Later she makes a scene and the security of airport penalizes her and he lowers her rate very much. After that, she rents a car to arrive to the wedding of her friend, and after many problems Naomi call Lacie because she didn't want her to come anymore. At the end, she arrives to Naomi's wedding and makes another scene and the security take her to jail where she finally releases her true character.

BLACK MIRROR
“Nosedive”

Blackmirror is a British TV show of science fiction. The creator of this TV show is Charlie Booker. It has five seasons, total are twenty two episodes.
The Blackmirror episode is about a not too distant future where it is valued as a person or the photos that hang with a maximum of five stars.
The protagonist of the story is looking for a flat to live alone, and for this she has to get a maximum of stars, so she asks for advice and tells her to be a natural person and always be kind. She uses these tips and uploads a picture of a childhood stuffed animal, and her friend, with whom she made the doll, which has many followers, invites her to the wedding and she does everything possible to get to the wedding and that everything leave as you have thought to get the stars you need for the floor, but at the time of catching the plane runs out of ticket and gets very angry with the girl who was selling the ticket, and they just throwing it out and penalizing it by removing it stars. He gets a car and goes to the wedding, but one night he runs out of gas and cannot replace it. Then in a washbasin he shows that he also goes to a festival to be taken in the caravan. During a caravan trip, her friend calls her telling him that she has learned that she has very few stars and that she no longer needs to go to the wedding. She all angry tells the truth to the girls in the caravan who just kicked her out. She starts hitchhiking to be able to bequeath the wedding. Finally it arrives, but stained with mud and with the bridesmaid dress. He makes a speech where he says everything he thinks about his friend and the relationship they had. During the speech, the security officers take her and put her in jail, there she meets a boy with whom she begins to insult, but it seems they like them.
I would not recommend this episode as the story goes by very slowly, but I think there are values that explain that they are very good, since you don't have to get along with people just because of appearances or how people think about it.

SERIES REVIEW

In a futuristic world, people qualify on a five-star scale using eye implants and mobile devices. This system causes relationships to not be sincere, because the more qualification, more economic stability and popularity you have.

Lacie is a young woman who lives with her brother Ryan. She has a rating of 4.2 and wants to achieve the highest score of 5.0. She tries to relate to highly qualified people, and sees a great opportunity to achieve her goal, when her childhood friend, Naomi, asks her to be a bridesmaid at her wedding, with many qualified guests. If she got high ratings, she would achieve her dream.
After a lot of trouble on his way to the wedding that gets his grades down, Naomi calls her up and tells her not to go. If I were she, I wouldn’t have gone to the wedding.
Lacie finally arrives, begins to say her speech. Guests rate her negatively, bringing her rating down to zero. Finally she ends up in a cell and they take the technology out of his eyes. If she hadn't got problems, she would have eyes technology now.

This chapter of black mirror represents today's society very well, but more futuristically. I really like this chapter, but I had seen it before.

NOSEDIVE-RAÚL CAMACHO

Nosedive is the first episode of season 3 of black mirror. It is a science fiction chapter that makes a social critique of social networks and the impact they create in our lives. The main character is a girl called Lacie Pound.

Lacie is a redhead girl with blue eyes. Lacie is involved in an alternative world where each person has an electronic score. That score goes up and down depending on your relationship with people and their assessment. If you are an edge on people, you will have less punctuation. If you are kind and friendly, you will have more score. If you have more score, you will have more popularity, luxuries and benefits.

Lacie's concern is to try to fit into this society. She tries to do good things for others and cares a lot about what others think of her. This makes her an unbearable person and evidently, her reputation goes down.

I recommend this chapter to raise awareness of our abuse of social networks and our concern to be popular. The chapter exaggerates these aspects, and makes you think.

The chapter  is about a society obsessed with the valuations of others, and they live by this score. Everyone have a personal ranking of 1 to 5 stars. Lacie is the protagonist and she wants to rent a flat but needs a higher score. If she had 4.5 stars instead of 4.2, she would buy the flat. So she tries to increase the score but she fails and drops it suddenly, because on the way to a friend's wedding where she was going to get up the score she acts naturally, a little gargantuan and not perfect.
What I like the best is the main actress, I think that her way of acting is very good and makes you connect more with the plot of the story
The only fault i can find is the final scene . If I had created the serie I would have ended it differently. I liked that the whole society has changed since then.

In conclusion, if you are a teenager i will recommend the serie to you, because we are at a stage where the opinions of others affect us more.
