Film Review - Matilda Asso

“Nosedive” is the first episode in the third season of the British science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. Directed by Joe Wright, this episode was given a much larger budget than the previous episodes of the programme.

The story is set in a world in which everyone is constantly rating each other out of five.
The society is actually based on that. The higher your rating, the better the quality of life you have, and the more privileged you are, and so everyone is sickeningly nice to each other all the time.

I really love the use of pastel colours to amplify the idea of perfection that everyone has to show in order to preserve their rating.

The actors carry the piece brilliantly. Bryce Dallas Howard is fantastic in the lead role, making her character human enough to keep us by her side.

I believe it's a perfect reminder of where social media can lead us if we keep trying to gain everyone's acceptance. I think this chapter is a must for everyone no matter the age.
