Review: Nosedive - Emma García

Nosedive is an episode of the science fiction series Black Mirror. It is based on a story by the scriptwriter Charlie Brooker and its director is Joe Wright. The episode, premiered on Netflix in 2016, is starring by American prestigious actors like Bryce Dallas Howard or Alice Eve and has received very good reviews from film critics.

In the episode, Lacie is a woman very worried about feigning and augmenting her social status, in a society where every interaction with people is rated. If she had a bad score, she would be excluded from society and many things would be forbidden for her. Lacie pretends a good relationship with everyone to augment her punctuation and access to a new house. For this reason, she attends the wedding of a childhood friend. On the way to the wedding, she will end up losing all her score, realizing that she was not free and that she was very unhappy.

What I like most about the episode is the final part where the protagonist rebels against society and begins to be herself. As a bad point, I would have enjoyed more the episode if co-stars as Lacie’s brother would have been more important during the episode.

I really recommend it because is an impressive episode. If you watch it, I’m sure that Nosedive will make you reflect!
