BLACKMIRROR- NOSEDIVE

Nosedive is one of the chapters of the Blackmirror series, a dystopic science fiction series created by Charlie Brooker.

Blackmirror is a series that deals with the technology and dehumanication of the future, in this episode the plot is based on the need that people have to be accepted. Specifically about the great power that social networks have over us and our minds and how would they have more if we didn't change.

In the chapter there’s an app in which people value them from 0 to 5. If you have good assessments you will obtain a better standard of living. It tells the story of Lacie, a woman who is hooked on this app, and tries to get a good score, and although her brother disagrees with her and tries to raise her awareness, she still wants to be "popular” on the app. But in the end things don't go as she wanted.

What I like the best is how they use pastel colors throughout the chapter, to simulate a perfect and beautiful environment, as we want to see on social networks.

On the other hand, I think it would be better if they had made a less dramatic end. In my opinion it was not necessary for the protagonist to be taken to prison.

Ending, I find the chapter very good as it tries to raise awareness in society about the damage that social networks can cause in our lives. I recommend it!
