It is
generally agreed that violence increases in teenagers when more violence is
shown on television. We can hear this sentence in a lot of conversations,
especially in adults. Even so, it is this statement the truth?
In my
opinion, there is not a relation between the teen violence and the violence
that is shown in the television. It is clearer if we see this situation with
another emotion. If television showed sad
programs, would we be sadder? If television showed pacific programs, would we
be more pacific? No. Moreover, everyone has watched violent scenes on television
and generally, no one wants to kill people.
Nevertheless,
many people consider that television or video games encourage violence, but
this is caused because of the manipulated news. When someone does something violent,
this news says that the problem was that the person was a fan of violent video games
or movies.
In
conclusion, I consider that violence in teenagers has not relation with the
programs that are shown on television.
